WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that there is only one God. He is the creator and sustainer of all things.
Deut. 6:4; Eph 4:4-6; 1 Tim. 2:5; Gen. 1-2; Col. 1:15-17
We believe in a literal six day creation as laid out in Genesis 1-2. We do not believe that the creation account is figurative or metaphorical. We believe that Genesis records actual historical events.
We believe that the one God exists in three co-equal, co-eternal persons as Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and Holy Spirit. This is the doctrine commmonly referred to as the "Trinity." Each are individual persons, each are fully God, yet they are one God.
Deut. 6:4; 1 Cor. 8:6; John 20:26-28; Acts 5:3-4
We believe that all Scripture is breathed out by God. It is perfect and without error in its original writing. It is sufficient for equipping believers for every good work. The Bible contains everything needed for salvation and growing in righteousness.
2 Tim. 3:16-17
We believe that God became flesh, that is Jesus Christ, and was born of the virgin Mary. Jesus has always been fully God but became fully man at His coming to earth in the flesh. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life, fulfilled the law of God flawlessly, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin and was raised from the dead on the third day.
John 1:1-14; Matt. 1:18-25"; Heb. 4:14-15; Matt. 5:17; John 19; Rom. 3:23-25; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Col. 1:15-20
We believe that the only way to gain eternal life is to place one's faith/trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins. Good works are of no benefit and do not gain man any good standing before God.
Eph. 2:8-9; John 14:6
We believe that those who have true "saving faith" will exhibit the fruit of the Spirit. Good works flow from those who have been regenerated by the Spirit of God. Works do not save, but they are evidence of salvation by grace through faith.
Gal. 5:22-24; Eph. 2:8-10; James 2:14-26
We believe that because of sin, man is totally depraved, unable to do anything good in the sight of God. Man is totally corrupted by sin in their mind, body and Spirit. Because of this, no one seeks for God on their own.
Genesis 3; Romans 1-3
We believe that because of man's fallen condition, their inability and unwillingness to seek God, that God must draw people to Himself if they are to be able to come to Him. Therefore God chooses those whom He will save, these are called the elect. God gives the elect the gifts of faith and repentance so that they may be saved by His grace. God chooses on the basis of His own free will and not on the basis of any thing that man can or does do it is an act of God's grace. God's choice is unconditional.
John 6:44; Romans 8:30; Romans 9; Eph. 1:11; Eph. 2:8-9
We believe that God entered His creation in the person of Jesus and purposefully died on the cross in the place of the elect. He gave Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice, so that upon placing their faith in Christ, the elect could be justified before God.
John 10:15-16, 24-30; Romans 3:23-26
We believe that all whom God calls to eternal life will come. No one can resist the will of God.
John 6:44; Romans 8:30; Romans 9
We believe that all who come to God through genuine faith in Christ will endure in faith until death and enter into eternal life where they will enjoy God's presence and worship Him forever.
Romans 8:30; Eph. 1:13-14; 1 Peter 1:3-5
We believe in fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20). The gospel message is for every people, every nation, every language, to the ends of the earth. Although God has an elect people, everyone is accountable for their decision about what they do with their knowledge of God (Romans 1) and the gospel (John 3:16-18). We believe that all who profess faith in Christ should be baptized by immersion in water as a symbol of their death to sin, burial with Christ in His death and resurrection to new life in Him. It is an outward sign of the salvation that has already occured inwardly by faith in Christ. Baptism is the sign of the new covenant community of God.
We believe that Christ will one day return bodily to claim His church and judge the world in righteousnes.
Acts 1:6-11; Matthew 24:29-31; Revelation 20:11-15
